Walking among Cuisine, Pastry, Pizzeria, Bread and typical ingredients

Penn State University has for years chosen Verona as a city where to spend a semester of study exploring the culture that has made Italy famous in the world.

Thanks to the collaboration between the language training center Idea in Verona and our Academy, in addition to the activities related to the learning of music and art, the students were engaged in our workshops with cooking lessons, bread making and sommellerie. Surely it could not be possibile to have such an experience in Verona and not to find a place dedicated to pastry, in particular for the delicious “Baci di Juliet and Romeo” and to the beloved pizza.

Instead, with regard to fresh pasta, a beloved dish of the Italian culinary tradition, the Chef has showed how to use specific local ingredientsValpolicella DOC was used to make Tagliatelle with Quaglia Sauce, Celery Rapa and Red Wine Reduction. Moreover, the pairing of food and wine remains at the base of our territory and biodiversity.

For greetings we thank you Stefano Bertacco (Councillor for Education of the City of Verona) and Diego Marchiori (Director of the International Department).
